Bodymind: Trauma Resolution

Trauma can be thought of as an injury that has an emotional component, so virtually all people are affected by trauma since we are emotional beings. There is no specific modality of massage and bodywork that is most suited to facilitating the healing of trauma, but rather an approach that encompasses the concepts of bodymind. We will use both Western and Eastern approaches to understanding characterologies to help us select the application for an individual client. We will learn a variety of assessment techniques, from posture analysis to palpation, for clients that wish to work through deep unresolved traumas.

We will practice strict confidentiality and full disclosure will not be required, only a willingness to explore this fascinating aspect of the healing arts. Topics that will be addressed include:

§                 Posture and gate

§                 Somatotyping

§                 Tridoshas

§                 Left & Right brain splits

§                 Abreactions

§                 Client communication

§                 Ethics and confidentiality
